I have a black line in my laptop screen and when i press it and move a little to the left, it now shows other color and it spread out.
Please help me.

I have a Dell Latitude E5400. The top 10mm of the screen is duplicated at the bottom of the screen as a flashing ( every three or four seconds) transparent ghost image. It appears as soon as laptop is powered up. The display on an external monitor is perfect. Should I try a new ribbon cable first or go for a new screen?

Hi, I have a Dell 14r with the vertical line issue also. If I twist the screen sometimes the screen stays on and sometimes not but the external screen works fine. I’m sure it’s the screen. I just wanted to tell you that you site is great and very informative. Thank you.

Hi, I’m looking for some advice. An Acer chromebook had a fall, and now the screen is not displaying properly, all that comes up is what I describe as a grey screen with some corrupt bars and lines showing horizontally. I am assuming the screen is damaged (even though there is no physical damage to be seen), I have connected the HDMI output to a TV and it works fine, I am wondering if this confirms the video side of things on the motherboard is ok, and that the screen is the fault, I am just unsure if the HDMI video output is created from the same source as the actual screen video ???

I have an HP Envy 15 and I’ve had sort of the same problem as Example 5.

been having this sort of problem for the last two weeks. I went to the technician and he said that the computer would probably need a checkup, but knowing the company they’ll charge me a ton just for that checkup, so I’d rather take the matter into my hands.

The left most screen disrupts and upon closing the laptop and reopening it again, the vertical lines completely disappear. Maybe a bad LCD problem? Please contact me if you know the answer to this problem.

Hi,
I got a sinle horizontal line on my Toshiba Satelitte Click Mini sceen. It’s black most of the time, but sometimes colored. Connectors are attached correctly so could the screen be faulty?

Thanks for the wonderful you’ve been doing Suddenly My HP probook screen started displaying distorted and coloured lines that I can’t even see anything on the screen. I kept it for few days and later turned it on, it came back to normal and I was able to use it for like say 2months. But now the problem has started again. Please help

I have a toshiba p105s6197.the screen shows blue and red vertical lines.first 1 then 2 then3.then a transparent white mesh line about1inch on the left.external monitor shows up perfect.on the left there’s a line as if another image is there.i can move the cursor up and down and see it move in that line.what would this be?

thank the universe I found your site–I have been living with these horizontal pinstripes at the
bottom of my toshiba satilite for a few months– and they were getting worse–until I found your site–I just gently pressed the sides were the stripes were and they disappeared-thank You

cracked screen, replaced with new one. resolution was crazy and font was messed up. realized i ordered wrong screen resolution. got new correct screen in and it boots to dark blue screen. works on external monitor and always has worked. ?? could be a bad screen that came in, but what happens when cable is bad??
