UPDATE: The site I was linking too removed all Acer manuals. I’m not sure if they will start sharing them again. I’ll keep this post alive because there are a lot of useful tips in the comments.

jennyward,
What happens if you press on the power button? The laptop powers up but nothing on the screen, right? I would check the memory module first. Try reseating the memory module, move it into the empty slot if you have any available.
If you have two RAM modules installed, try removing them one by one. Could be bad RAM.

HELP!! I have an acer aspire 3630 and my LCD screen won’t turn on. I have tried plugging in an external scren but all I get on that screen is ‘power saving mode.’ As its easter weekend not a lot of shops are open. My laptop is my lifeline to my friends as I have ME and I would really appreciate some advice.
P.s. I have looked at the conections to the main board and they appear to be secure but im not sure how to take off the casing around the screen.
Thanks in advance

Dave B,
This is very strange that you are experiencing exactly the same problem with three different laptops.
Try updating the video driver if there is a newer version available for downloads. Try updating the BIOS.

My new ACER 4720Z once turned on, at different times will all of a sudden freeze with lines running vertically up & down on the display screen. Once this happens, it must be shut off by holding the power button down for 6 seconds. This has happened to the first one I baught, took it back - got another - same thing and now a third. I thought - finally, all was good - THEN - #3 did it too. Can anyone suggest what may be causing this. I have lost any faith I had with ACER. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

does anyone have a diagram of how to take apart a Ferrari 3400? I messed up where the power adapter connects. The Acer website is useless.

I need your help please, i have an acer TravelMate 3260 which am having problems with, it came with XP home edtion and i partitioned it to install Professional on the other partition. The professional is working fine with some little problem with am trying to solve but the home edtion won’t display the graphics anytime it boots (explorer.exe) which I’ve once experience it with the professional and i copied it from the home edition with the help of the task manager and it worked to restore the display for the Professional. But when it came to the turn of home edition, i tried doing the same going to where explorer.exe is on professional using windows task manager but i couldn’t. The only option am left with is to restore the home edition to the hidden default factory settings partition in it but i don’t know how to get there and do that

When I hookup my Travelmate 270 with a proxima or TV (S-Video to RCA) it wont display on the external device. I don’t seem to find any additional display software for this model.

Yes I did try hooking up an external keyboard and mouse. It still won’t work. I guess I’ll just have to bring it to a computer repair shop or something. Thanks a lot for your help
