Apparently the modem driver is conflicting with something else.
You can try this. Before you install the modem driver, run Windows update. It’s possible you’ll find another driver on the Windows update page, try using that driver.

please help!! after installing modem driver my ACER 1690 cannot boot. The Booting is only until windows loading page, then it goes blank black screen. I don’t know why because it happens many times after i’m install modem’s driver…

It’s possible that the AC adapter plug is getting very hot because the power jack is not making good connection with the motherboard and has to be resoldered or replaced. That’s why you have to wiggle the plug in order to get power to the laptop.

WHEN I TURN THE POWER ON MY acer extensa 3000 THE LIGHT TURN REDDY ORANGE VIA THE HDD LIGHT AND THE POWER LIGHT.THE SCREEN DOES NOT DISPLAY BUT THE FAN AND EVERY THING WORKS ALRIGHT CAN ANY ONE HELP ME PLS

Hi, I really need help here; MY LAPTOP ACER 3680 melted my AC adapter. It’s been overheating to the point where it burned my finger when I felt the tip of the adapter. Ever since I came back from summer vacation, it started to overheat EVERY DAY. At most, I could use it for about 5hrs before it started losing the AC adapter (the orange light would be gone). As days went by, the battery life lowered even when the AC adapter was plugged in. 5 to 4 to 3 to just 1 hour. Even when I would try to re energize the battery, and it indicated that the battery life was FULL, the battery would only last 2 hrs. at most. It melted my first AC adapter. I bought another one and it burnt the inside of the adapter tip. In order for the laptop to find the plug, I would have to move the AC adapter tip around, but it would have to be still. Even then, the laptop overheats and then it starts to melt the AC adapter. I think I’m gonna try the Acer Aspire One. Any ideas? Input? HELP? PLEASE, ASAP!

Hello ail,
My Aspire 1350 does not start up anymore. It has had a slow HDD, and often hang up, so i had to power it off, then I was able to reboot.
Tonight, after powering it off, I cannot start it up again, When I press the power button,
-power lump lights
-no fans spin
-HDD lump blinks once
-CDROM makes noise
I tried the reset button and removing the battery – no difference, It beats me that fans don’t even start…..any idea to fix this? Thanks!

Can’t find how to remove the CD drive on my TravelMate 230. It says it’s here, but the website just is not user friendly.
