I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 that is very very slow. Reminds me of the 1990′s CPU’s. I have reloaded windows to start from scratch and it is still very slow. Is there something I am missing here? When I got it in 02 it was much faster than today. Can someone offer some advice to get this computer up to par?

I have a Dell Inspirion 9300 which has been working just fine until yesterday, when it started giving some beeping sounds like radio static, today it gave that sound and the an error message came up on the screen saying that the laptop has to be turned off to prevent computer damage. Since then the laptop doesnt come on, actually when you start it normally, the lights all flash on and then flash off without the computer starting unless you hold on to the start button for a long time and then it starts but after sometimes it makes that beeping sounds and then switches off. I have removed the battery and started it with ac and it still gives the same problem. Can someone help me?

I tried to find another hard disk and reinstalling the operating system. It worked only for five hours. After five hours the Hard disk was not detected again. I checked the hard disk and it was dead. I do not know what makes the hard disks to die. Is it concerned with circuit problems or BIOS?

I do not know whether there is internal/output error.

Please I still need your help with my DEll B120 laptop.

    cj2600 Says:

    Elineema Mndeme,
The hard drive plugs directly into the motherboard. If the laptop cannot see a known good hard drive, then most likely there is something wrong with the motherboard or with the BIOS.
    - check if the hard drive is detected by the BIOS
    - make sure the hard drive is good, run the hard drive test
    - try reinstalling the operating system
    - make sure that the hard drive is properly connected to the motherboard
    - try upgrading the BIOS

    Chris,
Could be some kind of connection issue. You can open up the laptop and try reseating the video cable connectors first.
