I have a Inspiron 710m and the speaker wires somehow broke. I fixed it, but only a temporary fix. Where can I get speaker wire for this and can I pull out the speaker and open it up to replace the wire?
Thanks

T.DeFilippis,
Here are disassembly diagrams for a Dell Inspiron 5000 series laptops.
The CMOS battery is connected to the motherboard. In order to find the CMOS battery you’ll have to take apart the laptop.

Curtis Daley,
I think I mentioned it in my post. You can get disassembly instructions from the Dell website, all you need is the service manual. OK, here’s the link to instructions for replacing the keyboard.

Robbie,
Why not? Either you get something from this laptop or through it away. You can least the whole laptop or separate parts here: www.anynotebookpart.com
It’s free.

Many thanks for the reply CJ. I think I’m just gonna get rid of the laptop. Is it worth selling for spares?

Robbie,
In order to start any laptop with video you have to have good motherboard, CPU and memory. First, try replacing the memory module with another working stick. If the laptop is still dead, most likely you have a problem with the motherboard. CPU failures are not common.
