tej,
Try this. Press F12 as soon as Dell logo appears on the screen. Select CD/DVD drive from the boot device menu and press enter. Can you boot from the OS CD now?

i have a dell inspiron b130, and for the third time my cd/dvd drive has stopped working, i was wondering if i can replace it with any brand as long as the dimensions match or does it have to be dell brand? i don’t really want to go through dell again seeing as this is the third maybe even the fourth time this has happened…

The charging/AC power light on my Dell XPS m1710 has gone out. When I plug the power unit into the laptop, I don’t see the battery charging light on. When I power up the laptop, I still don’t see the light. However, in windows, my battery is noted as being charged and the computer being powered by AC unit.
So simply put: What is wrong with my AC light on the laptop? I need this fixed as I plan on selling the laptop.
Cheers.
