have an issue with dell d600 I don’t have a battery but i do have a ac adapter, problems is when i disconnect the ac adapter and then plug it back in it takes about a minute before it will power up. Once it has powered up, I can shut down and restart just fine but if i unplug it for even just a second, I have to wait again. Any ideas???
Thanks in advance

frans van Maurik,
In a Dell Inspiron 2600 the inverter board is located inside the display panel, below the LCD screen. You’ll see the inverter as soon as you remove the screen bezel.
Take a look at this laptop display diagram.

David,
You cannot fix the screen if it’s broken but you can buy a new screen for Dell Inspiron B120 here for less than $70. I think that’s a really good price for a new screen. Any laptop repair shop will quote you at least $150 for the screen plus $100 in labor.

My laptop, Dell Inspiron B120 has a shattered display. It was accidently stepped on and now I can not use it for any purpose. Does anyone have a screen availabe for sell or any tips as to what I can do to put it to use. Thanks.

*Thank you*, Miss K! I ran into *exactly* the problem you did (although I did realize there was a MicroProcessor stuck to the bottom of the thermal cooling assembly). Your post gave me the courage to (carefully!) pry the uP off the cooling assembly, and now my 9100 is back humming along!
Take care.
