when i turn on my dell inspiron 7500 it say suspend to disk file. use guide. then it say replace the disk and then press any key.
i tried putting in my xp cd but nothing happens. invalid system disk.
what to do please ????????

I have a Dell Latitude L400. On both Win 98 and Win 2000 the internal LCD shows an alias on the left part of the screen (similar to a shifted overlap between odd and even rows) only if the applications run in full-screen mode (everithing goes right if not in full screen). It also happens that when the Windows taskbar autohides the whole desktop shifts down leaving a white strip on the higher part of the screen. At the same time everithing displays correctly on the external monitor. Any idea of the possible fault (I still tried with updated BIOS and video drivers but the problem remains)

I would like to swap the CD drive in the Dell Inspiron 6000 with another Dell having DVD drive. Can that be done and how to do it?

I am experiencing with the same problem with response #38(Kristen:I have a dell Latitude D505, It will not accept a charge. The problem started with my AC adapter, when adapter plugged into wall the power light lit up indicating that there was power running thru it. Once it was plugged into my computer and the connection had made full contact, the adapter light went out. It would then still work by charging with my port replicater and would charge that way. About a month later, I began to have the same problem with my replicator, once I connected my laptop the power lights would go out on my replicator. My computer will start and function properly with a charged battery, but I am unable to charge my batteries or run on AC. Any suggestions or comments on what may be creating this problem? Most likely just a bad RTC (CMOS) battery and the problem will be fixed after you replace the battery.

The same bad video appears on both laptop screen and external monitor. Sounds like a faulty video card. Unfortunately I know just one way to fix the problem – replace the video card.
