The following laptop step-by-step disassembly manuals I have created myself. You can use them if you have a Toshiba laptop and want to repair or upgrade it yourself. You shouldn’t disassemble your laptop if you have no experience with computers because you can easily damage it. Also, you shouldn’t open it if the laptop is still under warranty. I’m still developing new laptop teardown guides and my goal is to add new guides every week. If you do not see a manual for your model, most likely I will add it later. Stay tuned.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio F10. It looks pretty similar to the F15 you dis-assembled. I took it apart a few weeks ago to re-align the DC connector. Wish I had come across your site first. I seem to have disconnected the sound cable strip at the end nearest to the screen. When I opened the laptop up today, I noticed it was lying loose but could not see what was supposed to hold the strip in place. I can see the connector the strip goes into, but the gap is too wide to hold the end of the strip in place, it only has a flat blue plastic tip at the end where the strip wires are. Is something missing? Should it have one of the little clips like there is on the keybord and blue tooth strips to hold the sound board strip in place and make a tight connection? The part I am talking about is on picture 15 of the F15 dis-assembly instructions, exactly where the arrow on the top right is pointing, the cable pushes directly down into a connection, but I fear something is missing. Site is fantastic by the way.

    Diane Masse,
These disassembly guides were designed for experienced people. I wouldn’t recommend replacing hinges yourself if you afraid to ruin your laptop.

I have a Toshiba 2455-S305 that needs new hinges. I saw that you have a manual that is similar to my model. My question is does it really take all those steps to just replace the hinges? Is this a difficult fix for a novice? I don’t want to ruin my laptop trying to fix the hinges. Also what tips can you give me as far as any problems I may run into while repairing it?

    Thanks, Diane

    Don,

I’m trying to locate Slot B for memory on a Tecra A4-S313.

If there is only one slot on the bottom then most likely the second one you’ll find under the keyboard. Take a look at the disassembly guide for a Toshiba Satellite M45. I believe both models have a lot of similarities. You’ll see how to get under the keyboard.

I’m trying to locate Slot B for memory on a Tecra A4-S313. Slot A is easily accessed, but they don’t show you where Slot B is. Any ideas when you will have a guide taking apart an A4?

    Mario,
Check out instructions for removing LCD on a Satellite M55 laptop. It’s different but you’ll get the idea.

Great thanks, the M65 should do the trick. Just concerned about how I would remove the lcd from the cover so I could replace the back of it, if you could point me in the right direction that would be great.
    Cheers
