The following laptop step-by-step disassembly manuals I have created myself. You can use them if you have a Toshiba laptop and want to repair or upgrade it yourself. You shouldn’t disassemble your laptop if you have no experience with computers because you can easily damage it. Also, you shouldn’t open it if the laptop is still under warranty. I’m still developing new laptop teardown guides and my goal is to add new guides every week. If you do not see a manual for your model, most likely I will add it later. Stay tuned.

I have a Toshiba A100 -232 laptop. My brother was playing online game on it and suddenly the whole laptop just powered off. No lights are on, not even the power lights indicating its charging (the power cable was plugged in). I think the idiot just fried my laptop -.- I’ve currently unplugged everything and left it there to cool down because the laptop was extremely hot underneath. Today we had a kinda warm day suddenly, might have had sumthing to do with it. We can usually play that game nonstop without problems. I have never completely opened up a laptop before, only installed new RAM.

    Please help me.

    Danny,

I have a a55-s1063 laptop by toshiba and I got in a trade but there is a problem. The person I got cleaned the screen with water and and a paper towel and now water has gotten between the screen and left watermarks any remedy of cleanig without buying one?

You can try cleaning the LCD screen as I did in this post:
How I took apart and repaired my notebook LCD screen with water damage
Be careful. If you accidentally damage the screen during while taking apart, you’ll have to buy a new one. Proceed on your own risk. :)

    Ivair,

I have a toshiba satellite m40x and I need to change the cooler, someone know how to to it? It’s possible to send me the pictures?

I think you can use instructions for a Satellite M35X. M40X and M35X should be similar.

    Karen,

i know this might sound really dumb. but i physically damaged my dvd ram drive.. i mean the CD slot area. I was wondering how i can repair/ replace my dvd ram drive

I haven’t worked on Portege M500 yet. I found some pictures for this model on Google and it looks like replacing the DVD drive shouldn’t be a problem. Most likely you’ll have to remove one or two screws on the bottom and pull the drive from the laptop.
