The following laptop step-by-step disassembly manuals I have created myself. You can use them if you have a Toshiba laptop and want to repair or upgrade it yourself. You shouldn’t disassemble your laptop if you have no experience with computers because you can easily damage it. Also, you shouldn’t open it if the laptop is still under warranty. I’m still developing new laptop teardown guides and my goal is to add new guides every week. If you do not see a manual for your model, most likely I will add it later. Stay tuned.

    @ Marie,
It is possible but no easy.
You’ll have to disassemble the display panel too and remove the LCD screen.
I don’t remember the exact procedure of removing the video cable, but it’s possible. I’ve done it before.

I a trying to change the video cable of a Qosmio g35-AV600. I followed the disassembly instructions, WONDERFUL, by the way! When I take everything apart, the video cable is attached to the screen assembly via the left hand hinge. Additionally the cable is held underneath the top chassis by a bracket that does not appear to have screws. Is this mission impossible?

    Thanks,

    Horacio,

I have a Toshiba Tecra A10 with a web cam and I can’t disassemble the screen nor I find instructions on how to. Do you have some tips of link to instructions?

I don’t have instructions for this particular model but I think you can remove the display cover relatively easy. Here’s my guess and I hope it’s right and not confusing Tecra A10 with Tecra A9 disassembly.
    1. There should be two perpendicular screw covers on lower left and right sides of the display panel. These covers located close to hinges. Not on the front bezel, but on the side of the display. You can remove covers with a sharp object.
    2. Remove two screws located under those covers.
    3. Start separating the display cover from the bezel. I believe in this model the LCD screen is mounted to the front bezel and you can remove the display cover.
In most Toshiba laptops it’s opposite, the screen is mounted to the display cover and you remove the front bezel. But in this model you actually remove the display cover (back cover).

When the back cover is removed you’ll be able to access the back side of the screen, video cable and webcam.

    Cheryl Southam,

I need to replace the LCD screen on a C650D-00D, what steps do I take ??

I haven’t worked with this Toshiba laptop yet.
Most likely you’ll have to remove the top cover assembly and separate the display panel from the laptop base. After that you should be able to remove screen bezel and replace the screen.

    Eddy,

My toshiba T135D S1320 Hanging on black screen each time I open lid or recover from sleep mode.

First, I would check the BIOS version installed on the laptop and then check Toshiba website for a newer BIOS version.
Sometimes problems like that fixed with the BIOS update.
