   I’m trying to resurrect my Toshiba TE2000 laptop, Any help, hint, sugesstions welcome. Toshiba wants 75% of my original purchase price to fix it. I can get another second hand unit and use my one for spares I guess.

   Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite 225CDS. Is it possible to swap out the system board for another one with a form factor that will fit in the laptop, or are there other obstacles to trying such an upgrade? Thanks.

   Hi, I have a Toshiba Satellite 2515CDS Laptop and I lost the manual. I am looking for a manual that as an exploded view of thew laptop. I am interested in learning the way to opening up the laptop battery dooron the underside to remove the battery. Can anyone help? Peter

   All of these have been added under the Toshiba Portege Series link from the main page.

   In addition, some disassembly diagrams for other known models (Tecra S1, Tecra M1, TE2000 and TE2100, along with many others) have been found and are available as per instructions on the site.

    I haven’t worked on M70 yet and haven’t created a guide for this model. Take a look at Satellite M45, Satellite M55 and Satellite M65 guides on http://www.irisvista.com, I think these models could be similar to M70.

    Oliver,
    You can use Satellite A55 instructions for your laptop. In order to remove the DVD drive, you’ll have to remove the keyboard first. Under the keyboard you’ll find 2 screws securing the DVD drive, one more screw you’ll find on the bottom of the laptop. After all screws are removed you can remove and replace the drive.

    i need some major help. i have a toshiba satellite 320CDT and everytime i turn it one it says its low on memory and the previous page didn’t load completely. thats all it does. it will not bring up any other screen except for the mode screen (safe mode, normal mode…etc..) please help!!!

    When I turn on my laptop the C:\> comes up and I can not get out of it. How can I get reload either the Toshiba Recovery disk or Windows 98?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite 2100cdc. Yesterday i have accidently droped water on my aptop keyboard/screen …it got blue lines in the middle of LCD screen as well as it got stopped with message” ready for BIOS update” insert disk and press any key……

    It can not be switched off and power has to be cut….. what should i do … please assist.

    Insert the Toshiba recovery disk into the DVD drive and restart the laptop. As soon as Toshiba logo appears on the screen, press F12 to get to the boot menu. Select the DVD drive using arrow keys and press enter. The laptop should start booting from the recovery DVD. Follow the Wizard.

    Here’re minimum requirements for installing Windows XP:

    CPU – 233MHz (your laptop has 233 MHz)
    Memory – 64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features (your laptop can handle 160MB)
    Hard drive – 1.5 gigabytes (GB) of available hard disk space (I believe your laptop has 4GB HDD installed)

    So you can install Windows XP but it will run very slow.

    Previously posted on Feb 24th re disassebling guide needed for satellite A30 to replace power jack (centre pin broken off). Finally tried to get to grips with this repair ( I’ve had problems removing sheared screwheads on heatsink cover). Realise there is no guide listed for the A30 but have looked at a couple of others hoping for an equivilent (A35 looks same underside) but the repair on this guide doesn’t continue beyond removal of the heatsink. Would really appreciate some advice. Thanks

    I haven’t created a disassembly guide for this model yet. In order to replace the power jack you’ll have to take the whole thing apart and remove the motherboard. I believe on a Toshiba Satellite A30 the power jack is located on the motherboard and you have to unsolder it from the board. It’s not an easy task and if you have no soldering experience I would recommend using a professional repair center.

    I tried to access the manuals for the Toshiba Satellite 305cdt and Satellite pro 440cdt, but was unsuccessful.

    Hi,
    I tried to open toshiba satellite 325cd5 notebook for changing ram memory,but was unsuccessful. I unscrewed it and opened the side locks but it seem something was stuck in the middle of it. I will appreciate any feed back.

    Here’s my comment: I have a Toshiba laptop,Satellite 1905-S301
    It’s overheating and I need to install RAM. I can’t find the RIGHT tools to get to work. I need special tools but I don’t know where to look. I recently ordered a 130 piece tool set and nothing fits my laptop. Can you make any suggestions please. Any Mfg/retail franchise will do.

    I believe your Satellite M70 (Canada) will be similar to Satellite M65 (USA). You’ll find instructions for taking apart a Satellite M65 notebook here: How to take apart and repair Toshiba laptops yourself.

    Following your suggestion, I opened up my M70 using the M65 guide for… inspiration, shall we say. In the course of this investigation, I found there were some fairly significant differences between the M65 and M70.

    Am I correct in thinking that you also operate http://www.irisvista.com ? I ask because the irisvista.com website does not have any contact info, but on this site you state that you wrote the guides which are linked from here to that site.

    If so, would you like to have my notes and photos from disassembling my M70? I’m certainly willing to share the information. Please feel free to email me at the address given in this comment (I am assuming as the site owner, you can see the addresses from submitters).

    I have a toshiba satellite pro 440CDX.it was showing very light,so
    + went into control panel then I click on appearance & themes,then I clck on change resolution and then thats when my problem started.when I went back to my screen it was so light I could not see anything.I dont know what to do .SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME ,IM GOING NUTS WITHOUT MY LAP TOP .HELPPPPPPPP MEEEEEEEEEEE PLEASEEEEEEE.lol.GET BACK TO ME

    Please how can i get the Toshiba service center phone no in Nigeria. i have a Toshiba qosmio G30 (17 inches) Laptop that needs a new VGA replacement but the problem is that this will involve changing the whole board because the VGA Is embedded in the board. this is why i need their phone no, and address so that i can visit them for solution to this problem.

    I have a 1555CDS that is stuck with a post password and the keyboard wont function either.

    When i opened it up, the monitor and speakers were connected but not the mouse pad or keyboard. I am not familar with the motherboard and i need to find some type of manual for it.

    Do i need another set of connectors for the pad and keyboard?

    Could be bad AC adapter. Can you test the adapter with a voltmeter?
