If your Toshiba laptop is not under warranty anymore and you have decided to open and repair it yourself , then you should know how to find a part number for the laptop part you want to replace. Almost every part and cable in Toshiba laptops has its own part number and should be replaced only with the same part or a substitute part. To find the part number look for a sticker or for a sign on the part. Toshiba part number would be something like V000040870, A000004270, P000343780, etc. After you find the part number you can search here.
If you cannot find a part number for your Toshiba laptop, I can help you. Just leave me a comment with the part name you are looking for, the laptop model name and the laptop model number. For example: laptop model name Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 and laptop model number PSA70U-0WK00G. This information is located on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
I would be able to help to find a part number only for laptops sold in the USA.
Here are more tips for finding a correct part for your notebook.

I have a Satellite M55 and it’s currently running Phoenix BIOS v1.70.
According to Toshiba’s website there isn’t an update for it but I’ve found that the Toshiba site sometimes is behind on updates, example it said there wasn’t a video driver update for my machine but the Intel site had one from just a couple weeks ago.
Anyway, can you confirm if there is a BIOS update to v1.70? I’ve heard there was one which would help with fine tuning my machine.
Thanks in advance!

Hey All,
Thanks for the help. I fixed the issue. One of the pins on the system board where the screen connects was bent. I straightend it and plugged in the screen and it works perfect.
Thanks,
Alexander

Thanks a bunch! When I went to the link you provided, the vendor only listed the A15-S1291 as a compatible model. I have the A15-S1292. Are these two models essentially the same and thus the P000377310 fan would work on either model?
Thanks,
Tim

Alexander,
External video is fine, so most likely it is not the system board problem. You have the same bad video when you use a good known LCD screen and FL inverter. Right? It tells me that the LCD screen itself is good. So, there is only one part that connects the display module with the system board – the video cable. I would try to replace the video cable next. Not sure what else could be wrong. I guess it is possible that hey damaged the connector for the LCD cable on the system board. Also it is possible that they damaged a circuit on the system board responsible for the video output on LCD screen. Not sure, it is just my guess. But I would definitely try to swap the video cable; most likely it is your problem.

Hi Tim,
The fan part number for Toshiba Satellite A15 is: P000377310
The chipset fan on ebay was about $100. After a quick search on google, I found it for $39 here.
Here is a disassembly manual for Toshiba Satellite A10 and A15.
Good luck!

I have a Toshiba Satellite A15-S1292 laptop with a fan problem. The fan makes an awful noise after only a few seconds after kicking on & then it just shuts off. A couple of minutes of this & I get a warning from Windows that my cooling sys isn’t operating correctly & I should shut down. I’ve cleaned the dust/lint from the intake & the fan itself, & that doesn’t work. Seems like there might be a bearing shot in the fan unit itself b/c it sounds like the fan is scraping something. Anyway, is there a way I can get a replacement fan? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi All,
I reloaded windows and still have a problem. Once I re-mounted the screen after changing the plug, I did realize, you can see spots and lines when in the BIOS. I have updated my BIOS from 1.10 to 1.50 I even swaped the screen and inverter for kicks with a known good ones. Still, I get the weird bulls eye and lines. The kid I bought this machine from had some body attempt to fix it. This person did a real number on the machine. Put screws in the wrong place etc. I have dis-assembled this entire machine from top to bottom and can’t find anything shorted. Other then the screen there is absolutly nothing else wrong with it. Any Ideas what might be wrong with the screen?

Hi Nick,
In most cases the keyboard cable is locked inside the connector on the system board. To remove the cable you have to open the connector. The connector has 2 parts. One part is attached to the system board permanently, the second part is a lock. Here you can find an example how to disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board. Scroll down to ZIF connector. Your connector could be different.
