If your Toshiba laptop is not under warranty anymore and you have decided to open and repair it yourself , then you should know how to find a part number for the laptop part you want to replace. Almost every part and cable in Toshiba laptops has its own part number and should be replaced only with the same part or a substitute part. To find the part number look for a sticker or for a sign on the part. Toshiba part number would be something like V000040870, A000004270, P000343780, etc. After you find the part number you can search here.
If you cannot find a part number for your Toshiba laptop, I can help you. Just leave me a comment with the part name you are looking for, the laptop model name and the laptop model number. For example: laptop model name Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 and laptop model number PSA70U-0WK00G. This information is located on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
I would be able to help to find a part number only for laptops sold in the USA.

I have a crack in the plastic covering of the LCD screen. Can just the plastic (glossy) be replaced? it appears the distortions are from the cracks.
This is for a Toshiba Satellite A105-S4364? Can you also give me this part #?

I searched online and can not find out what motherboard I need in my Toshiba Satellite R10 PSR-10U-0UK00U.
How do I find out without taking mine apart?
thanks

JOANNA,
You can use the following screens: A000011060, A000011070, A000009150, A000011740. You can use either one. Search on Google by the part number and find the cheapest one.

H Kushner,
In this model the power jack is attached to a power cable. You don’t have to resolder the jack, just replace the power cable. Unplug it from the motherboard and plug in a new one.
Here’s the part number for the power cable (DC-IN cable): V000917470
Google for the part number and you’ll find it.
Here I posted instructions for taking apart a Toshiba Satellite M45 laptop. Could be helpful if you’ve never done it before.

Keith,
Could be anything and I don’t think it’s possible to troubleshoot these kind of problems over the internet. The description is too general. Could be a problem with the motherboard.

Sherman Ragbir,
Toshiba has two motherboards listed for this laptop: P000415760 and P000454980. I’m not sure if they are interchangeable. Most likely the second one will be backward compatible with the first one but this is just a guess. You’ll have to ask this question the seller.
By the way, before you replace the motherboard I want’ you to read this post:
Toshiba Qosmio F15-AV201 has a video problem where it only runs in 4 bit mode with vertical lines on the screen
Make sure to read through all comments. I think you can get free repair.

RD of houston,
Here is part numbers for the internal floppy drive: P000236110, P000226820
But in order to mount it inside the laptop you’ll need 5 other parts (brackets and cable). I would try using an external floppy drive, it will save you time and money.
Search for “Toshiba Satellite Pro external floppy” here. You’ll find if for about $10.
