If your Toshiba laptop is not under warranty anymore and you have decided to open and repair it yourself , then you should know how to find a part number for the laptop part you want to replace. Almost every part and cable in Toshiba laptops has its own part number and should be replaced only with the same part or a substitute part. To find the part number look for a sticker or for a sign on the part. Toshiba part number would be something like V000040870, A000004270, P000343780, etc. After you find the part number you can search here.
If you cannot find a part number for your Toshiba laptop, I can help you. Just leave me a comment with the part name you are looking for, the laptop model name and the laptop model number. For example: laptop model name Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 and laptop model number PSA70U-0WK00G. This information is located on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
I would be able to help to find a part number only for laptops sold in the USA.
Here are more tips for finding a correct part for your notebook.

Lukas Vogt,
All you have to do is reformat the hard drive.
I’m not sure what kind of viruses you are talking about but if your computer got infected it’s not necessary to replace the hard drive.
Did you install OS from the Toshiba recovery disc or you used OEM Windows disc? If you used OEM software you’ll have to reinstall device drivers and one of them is the sound card driver. You can download all needed drivers from Toshiba website.

Will and andresrguez,
I cannot advise you on laptops sold outside the United States.
@andresrguez
Probably yes. Remove dust from the heatsink, replace thermal compound and replace the fan.
Here are fan part number for a Satellite M30 and M35 laptop sold in the United States. P000370160, P000415730, P000440310. I think you can use the same fan for your laptop.
@Will,
I just looked at motherboards listed for a Toshiba Satellite M30/M35 laptop (USA models) and it looks like there are three different motherboard with 64MB video memory, but the problem is that each motherboard requires specific laptop base. I think the same rule will apply to Canadian models too. Be careful when you are buying a new motherboard. Find a part number somewhere on the motherboard and use it to find an exact replacement.
