I want to replace a failed part in the Toshiba laptop myself. How can I find the part number?
If your Toshiba laptop is not under warranty anymore and you have decided to open and repair it yourself , then you should know how to find a part number for the laptop part you want to replace. Almost every part and cable in Toshiba laptops has its own part number and should be replaced only with the same part or a substitute part. To find the part number look for a sticker or for a sign on the part. Toshiba part number would be something like V000040870, A000004270, P000343780, etc. After you find the part number you can search here.
If you cannot find a part number for your Toshiba laptop, I can help you. Just leave me a comment with the part name you are looking for, the laptop model name and the laptop model number. For example: laptop model name Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 and laptop model number PSA70U-0WK00G. This information is located on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
I would be able to help to find a part number only for laptops sold in the USA.
Here are more tips for finding a correct part for your notebook.
UPDATE:
I just started a new project - free laptop repair related classifieds.
You can see this site here: Any Notebook Part
If you are selling new or used laptop parts, used laptops, you can place your ad on this site. It’s free.
You can request parts too, maybe somebody has them for sale.

I just found this category; I posted this comment in A60/A65 Problems previously also. Sorry for posting in wrong category; won’t happen again. I can’t find Toshiba A65-S1065 (PA3373U) LCD Latch (V000912750) and LCD Latch Knob (V000912760). I’ve already googled the P/Ns; they are either out of stock/NLA or prohibitively expensive (>$50US). Can you help?
TIA

Amber,
It looks like Toshiba lists only one LCD screen for this model. Here’s the part number: A000000620. Search on Google and hopefully you’ll find a cheap one.

Malia,
Still not enough information. Please provide the laptop model number, something like PSAFOU-06H009. You can find this number on the same sticker with the serial number.
I would take a closer look on the power jack. It’s possible that the power jack is not making good connection with the motherboard and because of that the battery will not charge. Take a look at this post dedicated to power jack problems. As an example I took Satellite M35X and A75 but Satellite P35 can have the same problem with the power jack.

Oh, sorry, it’s a Toshiba P35-6112 that I need the part number for the replacement LCD. And then, I just purchased a used P35-611, but the a/c adapter and the batter both work and chharge in my 6112, but they do not work and charge in the 611. Any ideas? Can you point me in the right direction to correct this problem? Thanks so much!

Michael Friedman,
Before you do anything with your Qosmio laptop, I would suggest reading comments in this thread. Take a look at comments posted by Scott Smith on December 10th and 18th.
If you bought your laptop in the USA, I think you can get free service from Toshiba even though your laptop is not under warranty any more.
Now regarding your problem:
If I understand correctly, the backlight is on all the time but the image itself (data) keep blinking. This problem could be related to the video cable. It’s possible the cable connections are loose and reseating the cable may help or the cable is bad and has to be replaced. This is just a guess.

I have a question reguarding a Toshiba F15-AV201, if someone could point me in the right direction. The displays words keep blinking just the data, an external monitor works fine, tried reinstall the drivers, did not work.
Thanks
Mike

Malia,
If you can give me the laptop model number, as CPH did in the comment 390, I can help you to find the part number for your LCD screen.
Satellite P35 laptop has many different configurations and I don’t want to give you a wrong part number.

CPH,
I found many different LCD screens listed for a laptop with PSAFOU-06H009 model number. They all should be interchangeable and you can use either one.
Here are part numbers for your LCD replacement: V000062890, V000080340, V000062770, V000100790, V000100910, V000100980, V000101040, V000103090.
Search on Google for the part number and find a reliable seller. Just in case, contact them before you purchase the screen and confirm that it will work with your laptop. Just in case, even though I’m pretty sure it will.
