If your Toshiba laptop is not under warranty anymore and you have decided to open and repair it yourself , then you should know how to find a part number for the laptop part you want to replace. Almost every part and cable in Toshiba laptops has its own part number and should be replaced only with the same part or a substitute part. To find the part number look for a sticker or for a sign on the part. Toshiba part number would be something like V000040870, A000004270, P000343780, etc. After you find the part number you can search here.
If you cannot find a part number for your Toshiba laptop, I can help you. Just leave me a comment with the part name you are looking for, the laptop model name and the laptop model number. For example: laptop model name Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 and laptop model number PSA70U-0WK00G. This information is located on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
I would be able to help to find a part number only for laptops sold in the USA.

Joanne,
I do not have a guide for Toshiba Satellite 5150. I guess you can use Toshiba Satellite 5105 disassembly guide just follow steps 5 through 8. If it looks scary, then it’s better to take it to a laptop repair shop.

I am looking to replace the keyboard for my Toshiba Satellite 5150-S701. I found the replacement part but was looking around your site for instructions as to how to do it for this model. Do you have anything specific to this model Satellite? Any help would be appreciated!! Also, I know my way around desktops and have taken them apart and repaired, upgraded, etc. I haven’t worked with a laptop before. Should I just cough up the dough to have BestBuy or whomever is local do it? Thoughts? I use this for work so it’s important that it’s done right. THANKS!!

I need the part number for the CCFL used in Portege 2000 (12.1”). Is there a way to find it out without taking the laptop apart? Thanks, Irina

Dan,
If you want to replace the fan on Toshiba Satellite M35X laptop, you have to replace the entire cooling module which includes the heatsink and the fan. Toshiba doesn’t offer the fan as a separate part. Just in case, the part number for the thermal module: K000019100.

Hello,
I have been experiencing cooling problems with my toshiba satellite m35x-s329, psa72u-00v00u. I am about to take it apart (the warranty period is over) and clean out the heatsink/fan assembly and possibly apply thermal grease between the processor and heatsink to see if that helps, as per many posts on your site. However, I think the fan may be going bad, as it makes a grinding sound when it turns on. I am wondering what the part number may be for just the fan itself if I need to replace it. I have seen entire heatsink/fan assemblies, but I would just like to replace the fan if it is the only part that is actually broken.
Thanks in advance.

LRG — some feedback,
The dissassembly guide worked great, but unfortunately reseating the drive did not fix it. FYI – in addition to the part number, the people that I ordered the drive from needed to know if it was a “Master/Slave” or not. (“M/S” is printed on the unit).
Thanks again.
