If your Toshiba laptop is not under warranty anymore and you have decided to open and repair it yourself , then you should know how to find a part number for the laptop part you want to replace. Almost every part and cable in Toshiba laptops has its own part number and should be replaced only with the same part or a substitute part. To find the part number look for a sticker or for a sign on the part. Toshiba part number would be something like V000040870, A000004270, P000343780, etc. After you find the part number you can search here.
If you cannot find a part number for your Toshiba laptop, I can help you. Just leave me a comment with the part name you are looking for, the laptop model name and the laptop model number. For example: laptop model name Toshiba Satellite A75-S211 and laptop model number PSA70U-0WK00G. This information is located on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop.
I would be able to help to find a part number only for laptops sold in the USA.
Here are more tips for finding a correct part for your notebook.

leo pro,
Please provide the laptop model number and I’ll find the LCD part number for you.
You can search though guides at http://www.irisvista.com/tech/
There is no guide for a Satellite P305 LCD replacement, but I think it’s similar to Satellite A305 which same but smaller body.

Hi. I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 PTM30U-03V01750 with a bad cooling fan. Any help with the fan / thermal unit part number so I don’t have to crack the thing open twice?

Thanks for the info cj2600. Admittedly odd that it is the first example you cite in your article above.
Will research mobo further. Already upgraded to 1.2GB RAM and a larger and faster HDD (5400rpm vs original 4200rpm).

Lou,
Here’s the motherboard part number: V000040870
Don’t know. Research by the mobo part number.
Max memory. You can install up to 1GB in the empty slot. Use faster hard drive.

Toshiba Satellite A65-S1062 laptop model# psa60u-01w015
Attempting to identify motherboard part # and then with this info whether this supports 400MHz FSB. Concerns this may be an issue based on software tests of cpu/motherboard speed.
This an older computer that I am trying to breathe some life back into. Thus trying to see if CPU is the bottleneck in speed or whether it is the motherboard.

Im replacing the keyboard on a toshiba Satellite laptop mod psm42u. I seen photos of how to disconnect the cable. But it looked like you didnt have to completely disasemble the computer. Is there a step by step instructions of how to replace before I find out I didnt need to take apart the whole thing just to replace the keyboard?

KtrianaM,
You cannot buy the display latch separately, it’s a part of the LCD screen bezel.
Your laptop is not a US model but I think the front bezel is similar for all Satellite A200/A205 laptops. Here’s the part number for the front bezel for a Satellite A205: V000100010 (for laptops with webcam).
It’s about $25 on eBay. Some bezels on eBay has no latches. Make sure to buy one with latches.
