i am having hp pavilion dv 2700, just a day before its screen got crack badly can you tell me what should i do, and how much it will be costing approximately.

The cracked screen cannot be repaired. It has to be replaced with a new LCD screen.
A new screen for HP Pavilion dv2700 is about $70-80 on eBay.

of course every solution is to replace the screen. not much investigative work there.
I fixed example 2 (apparently quite common) with a screwdriver and 2 q-tips.

The question is for how long will it work?
If for some reason your repair fails, just replace the LCD screen.

Your repair might be OK if you are fixing your own laptop, but what if someone payed you money for that?

I also had strange characters, colors and lines on my sony laptop and tried evything including flashing new bios but eventually came across technomart and they fixed the video chip on the motherboard in 2 days time. Works very well and its been going for a year without a problem.

Did he mention how he fixed the video chip?

Sounds like you have a failed LCD screen.

Tell your dad to replace the LCD screen. And while he’s fixing the laptop do your homework.

Do you mean the video on the screen is fading? What disappears, the backlight? You push what?

This part of your description sounds like a faulty LCD screen.
