I have an IBM Think pad T42 Lap TOP. It does not boot up by first start up ( the monitor stay dark). i have to switch it off and on again and then it boot up.

My boss having IBM T30 thinkpad, having some problem with operating system. Not installing antivirus and other softwares.
Please help me to repair / re-install operating system (Win XP Pro) from the system. Repair operating system with out earsing data which key have to press. Full reinstall which key have to press and what are the things to be done.

In some IBM laptops the video backlight switch (the switch that turns the screen on when the unit is opened) gets stuck or loose. Tease it with a screwdriver to see if the LCD comes on. It is located above the keyboard on the back access panel.

IBM R40 laptop. I run it on a docking station. My problem is that the monitor does not have a clear / good resolution. The 17″ monitor works fine when hooked up to my desktop, but when I try to run it through the laptop / docking station, the monitor does not have good resolution. Sometimes it is ok, but it is a 50/50 change on whether it will work that day.
Is this an issue with the graphics card on my R40, or a docking station issue? Please help. I am about to buy a new laptop because I am tired of working on the laptop keyboard all day.

Fix for IBM thinkpads that don’t power on (powering problem): take out the battery and start the laptop using the AC power cord.

I doubt that you can clear the BIOS password on an IBM laptop. I guess you’ll have to replace the motherboard.

I loaded the ibm video drivers for my t60. Once the process was complete, my screen went blank and the systme gives out continuous beeps. Help!!

hi i have a IBM think pad type 2676 and i replaced the screen and the contrast is way tooooo high and it won’t go down far enough and i still have a white screen i have to look at it in a real hard angle. i have tried everything i can but it still won’t work right. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
