Have a R32 Type: 2658-G6G.
The problem is it will not turn on using the power button but if I press the space bar or press down around the red-blue-red buttons it powers up but as soon as I take my hand away it goes off.
I think it is something simple but cannot get to the root of it.
Have totally disassembled and reassembled following the instructions in the ThinkPad R32 Hardware Maintenance Manual | Here… http://download.lenovo.com/ibm.....2r2914.pdf to no avail. Please help – thanks!

Lee,
That sounds like a problem with the motherboard. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. You’ll have to replace the motherboard or use the laptop as is.

marius,
How do you know the error code is 3134 if nothing appears on the screen? I searched through the hardware maintenance manual for ThinkPad Z60m but didn’t find this error code.

David H,
What happens if you start the laptop from the battery when the AC adapter is unplugged? Will if freeze too or it happens only when you unplug the adapter while the laptop is running?
Try booting the laptop in Safe mode? Will it happen is Safe mode too?
