    Aashish,

2 days back,it shutdown suddenly and wasn’t ready to boot. When I removed the power supply and rebooted it.. it worked. But as soon as I connect it with Adapter it got shut down and the same problem persists as earlier.

Is that a problem with adapter or motherboard..

You cannot tell which one is causing the problem without testing the laptop with a known good adapter. Could be bad adapter or motherboard problem.

    Hello Guys,

I am having a strange problem with my thinkpad. 2 days back,it shutdown suddenly and wasn’t ready to boot. When I removed the power supply and rebooted it.. it worked. But as soon as I connect it with Adapter it got shut down and the same problem persists as earlier.

Is that a problem with adapter or motherboard.. Shall I try connecting with adapter without battery..or will it do a further damage. FOr the time being I am shutting it down and charge for some time and then remove adapter and boot again.

    Thanks..awaiting for responses.

    Hello,
I have a IBM ThinkPad 390 I added 128 more memory, but it doesn’t show I still says I only have 128 and not the 256 I should have. What do I need to do to make sure I have the 256 I should ahve now?

    Hi,

I have a Thinkpad R60 that was fine until recently. Now it won’t start up. I get the one long beep, two short beeps problem, but when I take out the HD, I get the IBM screen and set-up menu.

Sometimes it will begin starting Windows, but doesn’t make it all the way and shuts down. Any ideas?

i Have a Ibm ThinkPad. T20 I think, When i Got it It Was All Fine, But Recently. I Turned It Off By Pressing Start>ShutDown And I Turned It Back On To See A Black Screen Saying Sorry For The Incovienience And Ermm. TURN On With SAFE MODE, SAFE MODE WITH COMMAND PROMPT, And Safe MODE WITH NETWORKING, And Last Known Configuation That Worked And Start Windows Normally. Ive Tried It And it Goes To Windows XP Icon But Then Restarts… i Have to reinstall Windows XP i’m Aware Of That, i Recently Got a Windows Xp Disk, But When i Put It In, Because i Have a Docking Station The Laptop Doesn’t Recognise The Disk.? I DOn’t Have a Clue What To Do.. And i Really Could Do With Some Help. Please. Is The BOIS Too Old To Read The Disk.? But i Really Want All My Pictures That Are Saved On The Laptop. Is There Anyway i Can Get Everything Off It, Or Fix It.?

    Mike Casey Says:

I recently stopped some services in the System Configuration Tool. I cannot get them to start again. I cannot see where this is done. Also, is there a way to get prior restore dates back if you shut the restore feature off and then put it back on? I cannot access the restore points prior to the shutdown date, even though they are highlighted as restore points.
