marina,
How it beeps? Is it: One short beep, pause, three short beeps, pause, three more short beeps, and one short beep.
Then it’s either bad memory stick or system board problem. Try reseating the memory module, move it to the empty slot.
By the way, you can find beep symptoms in the laptop HMM on the page 54.

Courtney,
Ideally, you’ll have to disassemble the laptop, remove the motherboard and let it dry for a few days. After that you have a slight chance that the laptop will work.
After the liquid spill the first thing what you have to do is:
1. unplug the AC adapter
2. remove the battery
3. turn the laptop upside down
4. disassemble and clean the laptop
5. let it dry for a few days
Only after that you can try turning it on.

Hi,
I spilled about a cup of tea on my T60–it shut off right away and I thought I cleaned it pretty well, so I turned it back on. It started up but then shut down in the middle of Windows loading. I took it apart and am letting dry even more. Is this a bad sign? Am I fried? Is there any chance of it surviving?
Thanks,
C

Norbert,
Did you lock the CPU in the socket? make sure it’s locked.
Test the laptop with an external screen. Do you get video on the external screen?

Hi, my T30 after cleaning have died. Once powered on, lights will flash, fan starts, but no picture. Removing RAM will beep (as expected), but removing CPU will have no effect. The same start lights, fan, … black screen (as expected). Question, is there anything else to suspect, then burned CPU? e.g. motherboard, BIOS, … I don’t know what else?
Thanks,
N.

Damien,
I think you might have a failing backlight lamp.
