1. Remove the battery and try turning it on from A/C. Could be bad battery.
2. Try reseating the memory module. Try replacing memory with another known good module.
3. Remove hard drive, DVD drive, battery and try starting the laptop from AC.
If you still have the same problem most likely it’s bad motherboard.

I have a hp pavilion ze5400 laptop and I took it apart to clean out the laptop an put it back together but the touch pad and the front lights don’t work any more. can you tell me how to fix it. Thank You

Anyone have an idea what could be wrong with my 502us in the comment below? The flashes are in a definite pattern. The jack looked good and tested it w/an Ohm meter plugged in

I have a Compaq Presario C502US laptop that won’t start. When I plug the a/c jack in, the red charge led flickers on and off rapidly. If I hit the power button, the power led flashes and so does one of the volume led’s next to it.

Could be memory problem.
Try moving the memory module from one slot to another. It’s possible one of the memory slots is bad. When you touch the laptop, the memory module loses connection with the slot. Just a guess.

Hi, I purchased a compaq nc6000 as is. My problem is when power is pushed the fan turns but then it quits, sometimes it comes on to password screen then runs about 30 secs and the screen goes to black leaving the power lights on like it is still on…other times the slightest touch on the right side of the keyboard it does the same thing…anybody have any clues? Thanks.

thanksou’re doing for evrything you’re doing for us.I have a problem with my LAPTOP HP pavilion ze2000,it fell down a month ago and form that time doesn’t start up I have tried to disassemble it and assemble it Back and even replace the proccesor still the shorting is there still It can’t work. please what can I DO?

Could be memory related problem. Try reseating the memory module.
If you have two modules installed, test the laptop with each one separately. It’s possible that one of the modules is bad.
