I have a Compaq N610c Evo laptop and everytime i try to reboot it
,it comes out saying (Fixed disk Paremeter or Bios error).
Is there any solution to this problem or how can i reset the bios on my laptop?

With water damage anything could be wrong. It’s necessary to open up the laptop and take a look under the keyboard to find out if water got on the motherboard.

I HAVE COMPAQ 7010 LAPTOP.FEW DAYS AGO SOME WATER WAS DROPPED ON IT ACCIDENTLY STILL IT REMAIN IN WORKING CONDITION AFTER SOME TIME ITS DISPLAY GONE(DIM)BUT OTHER FUNCTIONS WERE WORKING PROPERLY.WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Awesome!! The manual helped a treat.. Same problem as Damian. Nx7000 no boot.. used he manual to disasemble, and found all i had to do was pull up the LCD plug, and put it back down. Put off buying a new laptop (for a while I hope)

I have problem with my laptop Evo N1020v. When I try to turn on the laptop it don’t boot up but power led is on. Screen is black. I noticed that when my processor isn’t in socket and I try to turn on laptop it of course don’t boot up but all the two fans spin out. When the processor is in socket the two fans don’t spin out. It seems that there is some kind of problem with my processor and this is the reason my laptop don’t boot up. Some time ago my laptop boot up after many times of trying to turn it on. But now even acces many times don’t help.

i really need your help!my laptop won’t startup.
i pressed the ‘load windows normally’ on the black background..
but it reboot again and again.i switch it on the whole night and it won’t stop.it just keep restarting.i’ve tried the hard drive self test and it pass all the test.im using compaq presario c300.

I just wanted to thank you for a little piece of information I obtained on your web site today. It was about using a USB enclosure to mount the hard drive out of a laptop in order to access the hard drive in a laptop which had failed…my laptop!

I meant Hitachi, but it doesn’t really matter right now since the computer is not “seeing” the hard drive anyway, but it’ll be good to use it this issue can be resolved.

Hi CJ2600,
I thought no one answered my post…(whew!) No, I cannot see the hard drive in the BIOS at all. It just simply acts as if there is no hard drive attached, even the replacement hard drive I purchased is not showing up in the BIOS area.
I just have tried not to open it up any longer till I find out some other good suggestions.

Hi I have a Compaq Presario v6000 laptop was wondering if anyone knows how to remove scratches on the screen? The scratch is not too deep but you can see the scratch it you look close.
