Here’s a good way to find inexpensive spare parts for your laptop or notebook computer. In most cases laptop parts are not interchangeable (except memory and hard drives) and it’s very important to use a correct part for repair or your computer will not work properly. You should search for spare parts by the part number.
1. Finding part number.
SparePartsWarehouse can help you to find the part number. On this website you can search for notebook parts by vendor. You’ll find part numbers for Compaq, HP, IBM, Sony and Toshiba notebooks.
Select your vendor/model line, choose laptop series and choose the laptop model. After that you can search through the entire list of parts for your laptop or just use the filtering tool to find a particular part. Each part usually has an original part number and an alternative part number. You can use either number. Now, when you know the part number, you can start searching for the best price.
2. Fining inexpensive parts.
First of all, try searching here. You can find a very inexpensive brand new part. If there are no new parts, you can buy a used one. If you cannot find this part on eBay, try searching by the part number on Google. Most likely the search will bring you many results and you will find what you are looking for.
Finally, when you receive the part, you can use laptop service manuals to install it.

I just started a new project – free laptop repair related classifieds.

Michael,
Looks like you got the right one.
Toshiba part number is: V000101780 (NEC/Tokin 7312S3) This inverter is backward compatible with the old one.
Yep, as I mentioned in the different thread, it’s either a defective inverter or there is a problem with the backlight lamp.

ok. my model number is PSAA8U – 0LH02K. the inverter my laptop came with is 7312S(2) but the one i bought and received is a 7312S(3). i just used the parenthesis to distinguish the number that is different on the parts. when i compared the two boards they looked nearly identical but some of the black boxes were slightly moved to rotated. when i plugged in the new board it did work but then died so i assumed that it is actually the backlight that is at fault

Forgot to mention.
If you have your inverter board removed, you can find the part number on the inverter.

Michael,
Give me the model number for your Satellite A105 laptop and I can look up the inverter part number for you. The model number is located on the same sticker with the serial number.

so i just looked up on the spareparts website and found that my toshiba a105 has 3 different inverter boards to choose from. i was wondering if it would be compatible with all 3 or the exact same one from my laptop? cause the one i bought on ebay said that it would work with any a105 series and i found it to be 1 of the 3 boards listed but still differs from mine which is also in the list.

We had a young student looking for a Lasier Diode from a DVD Burner that he needs to build a science project for school. Thought maybe you could lead me in a direction that we could help this youngster out.
Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Great site. Thank you.
I have an older A75-S229. I have both the overheating problem and the static speaker problem. I manage though and have some new issues.
Apparently, my DVD/CD burner has gone out. I decided to buy an external DVD burner (Memorex 20x Dual). I took it back because I could not get it running. The device showed up in device manager, but I had no way of loading the driver. The memorex website was less than helpful with a driver download. Anyway, I may just buy a replacement Mashita internal drive.
When I do this, I’d like to increase the RAM. I can’t find what kind of memory to buy. What is the max size and type to buy?
I will greatly appreciate your help.
