Today I found a great source with service manuals for Sony Vaio VGN series laptops and notebooks. Links to the service manuals were posted on one of the Russian forums (comment 13). Not sure for how long these service manuals will be available for downloads but they are the time of wringing this post. Some files are large and it might take some time to download them, so be patient.

I believe all Sony laptops sold with at least 1 year warranty. There must be some kind of warranty even in Bulgaria. Have you tried calling the official service center?

Hi I have a Sony Vaio from about 9 months now I have a problem model is PCG-3J1L charger works just does not want to transfer to the battery when the charger cord removed immediately otherwise dim goes perfectly Can anybody help or recommend the service.
PS The laptop was not bought from Bulgaria there is no guarantee! Thank you in advance!

It’s not the right model number.
Take a look at the screen bezel and somewhere in the lower left or right corner find the laptop model number.
After that google the model number and you’ll find it.
By the way, is the laptop still bootable? You can find CPU specs in the BIOS menu.

a/There is no manual for PCD-NVR23 here. Can someone tell me where can I find one. Sony no longer support this model.
b/Also my Belkin’s Pcmcia-wireless card won’t stay connect for good. It keep drop out/in from time to time. All drivers updated. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
