Today I found a great source with service manuals for Sony Vaio VGN series laptops and notebooks. Links to the service manuals were posted on one of the Russian forums (comment 13). Not sure for how long these service manuals will be available for downloads but they are the time of wringing this post. Some files are large and it might take some time to download them, so be patient.

Hi,
I have seen red ants crawling into and out of my Sony Vaio laptop Model PCG-71311W. I checked with a service center close to my place but they seem to be more focused on how much they can fleece me. They suggested the computer would need repair in addition to cleaning, as soon as I mentioned red ants. Plus I cannot visit that city for another three weeks. Any suggestion as to what I can do to prevent further damage till I can get to a service center? I live in a not so well-connected town in India.

Where can I buy Screws for Sony Vaio VGN NR 11 Z/S series. The Palm top screws have come out and the manual says requirement of B3 screws. Where do I buy them from

I just took apart my Vaio, there is a line running from where the battery plugs in to where my biometric scanner and wireless toggle is located, perhaps it is broken?
Also, LAPTOP REPAIR, i have a Sony Vaio VGN-G118TN, it is an asian model (don’t ask hehe) would you happen to know where to get repair manual’s for it?

Hello everyone,
I have been going through few problems in last 2weeks.
i)Monitor flickering-after getting started suddenly monitor start flickering,and provably after restart my laptop 10 times then have a chance to start properly.
ii)Turns off my laptop completely.
I have re-install my graphics card once.
