Today I found a great source with service manuals for Sony Vaio VGN series laptops and notebooks. Links to the service manuals were posted on one of the Russian forums (comment 13). Not sure for how long these service manuals will be available for downloads but they are the time of wringing this post. Some files are large and it might take some time to download them, so be patient.

Hello guys,need help please.
so,i have a Sony VGN-SZ430N laptop,wich is dead.No boot,nothing.
So I decided to reprogramm the BIOS chip.Therefore I have dissassembled the machine,but inside,surprize,i have not find the bios chip.
Did someone know wich is the BIOS chip and where is that placed?

My sony notebook vgn – n 325E shut down while i was using it and since then i can not turn it on. the ac adapter light is green when attached to the noteboo the notebook is still dead.
Can anyone help?

If you want to reinstall original factory software, you’ll have to boot your laptop from the recovery disc. After that just follow instructions on the screen.

Hello. I have a Sony VGN-A190 that is having problems with the power supply input port where the power plugs into the back of the computer. It is slightly loose and will not stay connected unless I have my hand on it and watch the battery-charge widget to make sure it is connecting and charging the battery. Can someone point me to a service manula for that 17 inch laptop? I would also like to upgrade the HDD and the internal RAM chip. Please help. Thanks, and all the best to you!
