Today I found a great source with service manuals for Sony Vaio VGN series laptops and notebooks. Links to the service manuals were posted on one of the Russian forums (comment 13). Not sure for how long these service manuals will be available for downloads but they are the time of wringing this post. Some files are large and it might take some time to download them, so be patient.

Imbecile question…………
My Sony Vaio VGN-NR32L has started opening the CD/ DVD drive unrequested
If you close it, it reopens 10 seconds or so later
What is the probelm and how do I solve it?

I would REALLY appreciate a link to a manual for the SONY VAIO VGN-TZ11XN.
Quite a new machine but even after all the screws are out of the back it’s almost impossible to get the thing open. Really need to swap a HDD out.

Hi,
I need a service manual for a GRX-316 (or comparable model like GRX-416). Unfortunately it seems as the bad solder joints on the RAM-socket finally gave in. Additionally the HDD’s death is imminent. So I’m thinking of either disassembling and using the LCD and maybe other parts or getting the RAM-socket fixed. Any hints on successful projects using such an LCD as standalone screen attached to either VGA or DVI?
