My Acer Chromebook has some kind of brownish stains draped like a curtain on the top and sides of the screen. A couple of weeks ago the stains started out small but got bigger each day. They look like water or oily stains, definitely on the inside of the screen. Twice I took the screen completely out, even disconnecting it so I could hold it and get a good look at it. The stains are obviously somewhere between the screen and that white paper thing in the back. I don't know correct terms. The screen has metal on the sides, and I tried twice to separate the screen from the white back but couldn't figure out how to get it apart. I don't even know if a chromebook screen does come apart or if I have to get a new screen. I want to try to clean it but I can't figure out how to take the screen itself apart. Does anyone know if this can be done?

Hi. I bought a used acer aspire one w/a cracked screen. I installed a new screen and now the backlight will not cut off while the ac power adapter is plugged in. And this occurs even when the laptop is powered off. Plug in the ac adapter and the light comes on, pull it and it goes off. There's only one connection so I didn't forget anything, lol. Any idea what could be causing this? Thank you.

@ haniz,

why when i open my laptop the screen is larger?

What do you mean by that? All icons and text larger than used to be?
Check the display settings. Make sure your screen resolution is set to max.

@ Laptop Help,

You can try reseating the video cable connectors on both ends. Maybe one of the connectors got loose.
If it doesn't help, most likely you'll have to replace the screen. Probably the screen was damaged.
