My plug was accidentally pulled out of the wall, then screen had strange lightening-like flickering across the very top and very bottom of the screen, then it went completely black when re-plugged. Power light still turns on, as does "caps lock" light which stags on for a bit, then off, then on again. Can you help me get it working again? It is an old Toshiba laptop. Thank you for any help you can offer!

@ joy,
You've replaced the screen and installed a new cable correct? And now the image flickers when you jiggle the the 40-pin connector on the back???
It's either defective screen or bad cable. I don't know what else can cause this problem. Sorry, cannot give you a better advice without looking at the laptop.

@ Joy,
Do you still have an image on the screen?
How does it flicker? The backlight flickers or the image flickers?
Was it a new cable or you bought a used one?

@ Joy,
If the new screen didn't fix it, most likely you have a problem with the motherboard of display cable.
Unfortunately, you cannot tell without testing with another cable.

@ Joy,
What was wrong with the original one? Maybe your problem is not related to the screen?
Anyway, check the video cable connection. Make sure it's seated properly.
