If you are looking for Acer laptop service manuals, you can download it here. Some laptop service manuals have multiple parts. To use the manual, download all parts to your hard drive and then extract them with WinRar archiver.

UPDATE: The site I was linking too removed all Acer manuals. I’m not sure if they will start sharing them again. I’ll keep this post alive because there are a lot of useful tips in the comments.

Hello,
I was wondering if anybody out there knew how to open an acer travelmate 2100.
I took all the screws out, but there seems to be something else that holds it together. I don’t want to break it, so I’m asking first: are there any hidden latches I should know about?
Thanks!
BTW I’m trying to change the HD.

Fiona, you might try removing the battery and running the aptop on AC power for awhile. If the problem goes away then it might be that the battery is overheating and needs to be replaced. It should still be under warranty.

Hi there, I am having a major problem with my Acer Travelmate 4000.
It wont turn on at all when the power button is pressed, sometimes it will randomly load up, but it is doing this less and less, and I havent been able to turn it on for a few days now. When it did load up, it loaded up normally.
When the Ac adapter is connected, the light at the front of it turns on to indicate the battery charging, but I still get no response even after charging for a few hours. I have tried turning it on directly with the AC adapter (without the battery), but I still get nothing.
Is it possible to be a problem with the switch and nothing to do witht the battery/adapter at all?!
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Shana,
Test the laptop with an external monitor. If the external video is displayed normal, I assume there is nothing wrong with the video card or motherboard.
I would try reseating the video cable on both ends - motherboard and LCD scree, maybe it got loose somehow. If reconnecting the cable will not help, I would probably go ahead with replacing the cable. Maybe it’s bad. If still not luck, it’s possible you have an issue with the screen.

Hello, i am having an issue with an Acer Travelmate 280.
It will boot up, but the screen with remain grey through everything. I can hear it run through Windows XP and boot up through the sound. But the screen won’t change.
