Oh, and also, before it stopped working, I noticed the touch pad wasn’t working. Dunno if that helps, or makes it more complex.

Hey, maybe like 5 hours ago my Acer Travelmate 2300 just turned itself off. I started it up, only to find out that it wasn’t recognizing my power cord.

I started up an hour later, thinking it might have overheated, yet I booted it up, and it still wasn’t recognizing it. The AC adaptor light also wasn’t on. I restarted it, and the AC adaptor light was flashing on and off.

Maybe five minutes ago, I tried starting it up once again, yet it didn’t even try. The AC adaptor light flashed on and off, and now I am getting very frustrated.

A while ago, my dad owned this Acer, and the casing around the power cord was ripped up, yet the wiring inside was left untouched. It’s been working since then, yet today it screwed up.

    Please, someone, help!!!!!

Thank you SO much in advance, seeing as I think my girlfrind my be a little upset with me right now and she is not answering her phone and we usually talk on MSN messenger.

    Helena,
Try cleaning the heatsink and fans with compressed air (you can buy it in any local computer store), just blow it inside the openings on the bottom or sides of the laptop.

    Hello there,

I wrote back in March 29th asking about how to remove the hard drive on a travelmate 2100. I found out later that you don´t answer questions regarding acer laptops (so, sorry about that).

Anyway, it turns out, to remove the hard drive you just need to take out the battery and pull on the little plastic tab that you see in the middle.

I had to take apart the whole laptop to find this out, ’cause I didn’t want to pull too hard before I knew what it was for. I just thought this may be useful for someone else in the same situation.

    Cheers
