Here’s something you can try.
Access the disk management utility: Right click on My Computer – Manage – Disk Management.
In there you’ll see the 250GB and unused space. Right click on the unused space and create a partition. Format it with NTFS. Restart the laptop and you’ll see another drive in My Computer.

On the Aspire 3003, the original hard drive showed a C drive (20 GB) and a D drive (20 GB) which was the total of the original 40 GB hard drive. i replaced with a 250 GB but now it only shows a C drive with 127 GB. do you know how to get the other 123 GB showing as D Drive?

You have to install a new drive and then run the recovery disc. The new drive will be partitioned and formatted automatically by the system recovery utility.

Do you know if the keyboard stopped working only in Windows or it will not work in the BIOS too?
Turn on the laptop and when Acer logo appears on the screen try pressing F1, F2, Esc keys. Can you enter the BIOS menu? Will the keyboard work in the BIOS?

do you know if a new hard drive for an Acer Aspire 3003 needs to be partitioned? i want to install a larger hard drive as it only came with a 40 GB HD.

i have acer aspire 5920 . ive got it for 8 months now. it has been sent for repair twice.once the battery and mainboard was changed and the second time there was a problem with the sound but the repair centre did nothing, it still crackles.
