If the drive can read CDs but not DVDs, most likely it’s the drive problem.
In most Acers the DVD drive is secured by one or two screws on the bottom of the laptop.
Remove any screws located under the DVD drive and try to pull it out of the laptop.

Did anyone get the manual for an Acer Travelmate 2300 before the site removed the manuals? My DVD reader and burner doesn’t work. It can read CDs but not write to them.

Hello i have this really werid problem every time i turn on my laptop it well we to pick vista start up normaly and all that but everytime i but that it restarts and keeps doing it over and over and it tell me to get a installtion cd but i through mine out can someone please help me it asap

i own a travlemate 270 and it wont power on the power cord might be the issue but the laptop the power light is very dim and it stays on with the power cord i have no battery for the laptop also

whenever i use the inbuilt speakers the laptop stops responding
it hangs…..but it works fine with the headphones and also when the sound muted
but whenever the inbuils speakers are used it stops responding
any suggestions will b appreciated

How it flickers? Are you losing the backlight, image or both?
I think it’s either bad connection between the video cable and motherboard/LCD screen or the video cable goes bad.
1. I would try reconnecting the video cable on both ends.
2. I would try replacing the cable.

i have a accer aspire 4710. all is well,except for the display, when i open the screen, at certain positions there is flickering in the screen, and it seems to increase day by day.but when kept open at the maximum open position there is no probelm at all. so can anyone help in is this aspect..
